DigitalMint, Kerma Tech’s team to expand Bitcoin ATM locations

DigitalMint, a bitcoin point of sale provider, is teaming up with Kerma Tech, a Southeast ATM operator, to provide access to cryptocurrency across several states, including Georgia, Tennessee, and Indiana, according to a press release.

The initial launch calls for Bitcoin ATMs at gas stations and convenience stores at 25 locations. DigitalMint’s expansion comes just months after the company announced its partnership with Answers. Etc., a financial services software provider. It aims to make cryptocurrency more publicly accessible through kiosks and number windows in a wide range of locations such as gas stations and convenience stores.

The number of US bitcoin ATMs has more than doubled in a year from 4,213 in 2019 to 9,242 in 2020. DigitalMint has more than 675 brick-and-mortar locations across 32 US states.

“The Kerma Tech team is thrilled to work with Bitcoin’s point of sale provider like DigitalMint,” Kerma Tech co-founder Amyn Remtulla said in the release. “We are confident that with our collective efforts and innovative services, we will help accelerate the adoption of cryptocurrency nationwide.”
