The hardware wallet maker Ledger has recently been dealing with a lot of criticism for the e-commerce customer data leak that occurred last June. The data included the emails of a million Ledger wallet customers, and thousands of clients had leaked additional information such as phone numbers and residential addresses. Reports now indicate that the hackers dumped Ledger leak data on the free Raidforums share market.
Ledger Dump Hackers Wallet E-Commerce Customer Data on Raidforums
One of the most timely conversations in the cryptocurrency space in the last 24 hours has been the leak of the famous Ledger wallet e-commerce customer data. According to the evidence of the hardware wallet’s own manufacturer, the e-commerce marketing database was broken on June 25, 2020. They discovered the database had been exploited after a researcher left the company off on July 14, 2020, and initiated an internal investigation.
“Contact and booking details were involved. This is mainly our customers’ email address, around 1M addresses, ”Ledger wrote at the time of its discovery. “Further to investigate the situation we have also been able to establish, for a subset of 9,500 that customers are also exposed, such as first and last name, postal address, telephone number or ordered products.”
Last week, news.Bitcoin.com reported on Ledger’s leak situation, as it has come back to harass the company. A large number of people reported receiving phishing emails and some individuals were reported to have lost money. In addition, several Ledger customers whose phone numbers were leaked have been specifying that malicious text messages were sent to their phones. Making matters much worse, reports on December 20, 2020, indicate that the hackers have decided to dump all free information on the Raidforums market.

There have been a number of cryptocurrency opponents report on the data tip on social media and the Pastebin file also goes around with the heap as well. “A hacker is dumping the full dump of the free Ledger database on Raidforums,” one person tweeted. “Emails, phone numbers, and addresses. Get ready for a spam wave and massive phishing, ”he added. According to a Raidsforums post, identity information for 272,000 Ledger owners was included with the 1 million email addresses.
Registrar and CTO of Hudson Rock also known as “Under the Cut”He also reported on the data tip.
“ALERT: The threat actor has just dumped the Ledger database that has been rotating around for the past few months,” he tweeted. “The database contains information such as Emails, Physical Addresses, Phone Numbers, and more information on 272,000 Ledger buyers and Emails 1,000,000 additional users. This leak is still [a] high risk to the people affected by it. ”
The security expert added:
Individuals who purchased Ledger tend to have high net worth in cryptocurrencies and will now be subject to cyber harassment as well as physical harassment on a larger scale than has been experienced before. Other forum members do not appreciate the leaker eliminating their potential 6 figure sales for this database.
Ledger Responds, Regrets the Situation
Ledger’s official Twitter account also discussed the data tip Sunday. “Today we were warned about dumping the content of the Ledger customer database on Raidforums,” the company said tweets. “We are still confirming, but early indications are that this may well include our e-commerce database from June 2020.”
The hardware wallet manufacturing company also added:
It is a huge understatement to say that we deeply regret this position. We take privacy very seriously. Avoiding situations like this is a top priority for our company as a whole, and we’ve learned valuable lessons from this situation that will make Ledger even safer.
Ledger says that since July, the company has done “everything possible to make Ledger stronger for the future” and also hired a new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The company says it is “further hardening” its systems and has thoroughly reviewed its data policy. “We carried out penetration testing and forensic analysis with external security companies to test these and find any additional vulnerabilities on our e-commerce systems,” Ledger added on Sunday.
